Track Record

  • Cohen has led and facilitated an asset business improvement program for a major open cut coal mine in the Bowen Basin which focused on reducing operating costs and improving asset productivity in order to meet market guidance.
  • At a major open cut coal mine, he facilitated the design and strategy of medium long-term haulage planning and processes, which was strategically focused on transitioning to operational readiness for autonomous haulage system.
  • He has governed the workforce planning and labour productivity of the mine plan at a major open cut coal mine in the Bowen Basin. This process involved analysing equipment counts, limitations, capacities and supporting processes in order to meet stripping demand at optimised unit costs.
  • Ideated, designed, implemented and executed a productivity improvement program. This program involved analysing the mine plan requirements, the technical limits (P10) and operating requirements of all mining process and design performance improvement sprints across systems and behaviours in order to safely meet the demand of the short term mine plan.
  • Cohen lead the implementation, contractor management and mine design of advanced explosive and initiation systems at a major open cut mine in the Surat Basin. The project strategically focused on eliminating safety hazards and improving blasting fragmentation performance for optimal stripping.
