With over 11 years’ experience in the resources industry including more than 5 years in consulting, Edison is a seasoned mining professional that specialises in mining engineering, cost estimation, and strategic mine planning.

He has experience in both metalliferous and coal mines, through owner operator, contractor, and consultants. Edison has a unique strength to combine mine engineering with financial analysis to generate the highest return for stakeholders.

Track Record

  • As a mine estimator for Redpath Mining Australia, Edison’s responsibilities included computing cost estimates, source and analyse suppliers, preparing tenders and submission documents to mining operations within Australia and around the world. This position required both accounting and finance knowledge as well as a strong mining background
  • Edison was the Senior Mining Engineer (Strategic Planning) for the Simberi operation (PNG), overseeing and preparing optimized sulphide expansion studies and mine plans, including infrastructure, mining method, equipment, designs, schedules and financials
  • As a Senior Mining Consultant with Marshall Mining, Edison was seconded to multiple open cut coal mine sites in the Bowen Basin (QLD), during which he supported operations as a truck and shovel engineer, drill and blast engineer, and planning/scheduling specialist
  • During his time with Australian Mine Design and Development, Edison worked on metalliferous projects within Australia and around the world. Unique challenges included inaccessible terrain, unfavourable geotechnical conditions and steep dipping orebodies in which he applied deep technical skills and knowledge to overcome those difficulties
  • As a 2-year planner for Christmas Creek (FMG), Edison gained valuable experience in terms of complex ore blending with multiple grade constraints. During this time, he was responsible for creating quarterly plans and site budgets
