John is a highly experienced project manager with a proven track record of success in leading diverse teams and managing complex projects across multiple industries.

This is coupled with a strong foundation and significant experience in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) management. John has held technical and senior leadership roles including Category Specialist, Group Surface Engineer, Health and Safety Manager with over 30 years of experience which includes 12 years of consulting in the mining sector.

John’s expertise extends to compliance and auditing, where he has consistently driven improvements in operational processes, ensuring that all projects meet legal and industry specific requirements.

Track Record

  • John has been instrumental in driving the process of capital procurement and optimisation of mining in companies including BHP, Glencore and Yancoal. In addition to this he has advised in tyre management. Success in these areas led to improvement in fleet utilisation, continuity and contingency in meeting production LOM plans as well as reducing expenditure with minimising lost production. John’s consultancy has seen him supporting clients with bespoke engineering projects and compliance audits, developing strategies for clients such as Rolleston Engineering, including equipment compliance and defect management.
  • As a Project Manager, John has delivered a diverse number of projects which include developing scope of work packages and leading projects through concept design, selection of solution, tendering and execution. The type of projects delivered include train load bin replacement, CHPP upgrades, specialised explosive vehicles, fuel delivery systems on HME, decommissioning and replacement of communication tower, installation of in pit mobile wireless towers, installation of wireless networks, install RF networks, installation of nitrogen plants. All these projects delivered improved productivity issues, reduced risk and improved efficiency.
  • John’s significant WHS and quality management experience includes the development and implement accredited ISO45001, ISO9001 and ISO14001 Management Systems which led to improvement in reducing LTI statistics and improvement in safety culture and positioned the business as a top tier prequalification with government, defence and mining sectors.
  • He has significant experience in facilitating risk assessment for a wide range of mining related activities.
