With over 10 years of experience in the mining and resources sector, Scott has developed expertise in mine design, scheduling and analytical skills.

These skills have been utilised in a vast range of projects including: pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, due diligence studies, brownfields resource development and optimization, and JORC compliant reporting for public release. He has both underground and open cut coal experience, along with being an expert user in several software packages including but not limited to XPAC, AutoCAD, and MS Excel (including the use of macros and Visual Basic coding).

Track Record

  • Scott has worked on several studies where he was able to bring his expertise in mine design, options analysis, and production scheduling to put forward optimized and achievable production outcomes.
  • He has assisted with writing technical reports compliant with the JORC Code for public release to the ASX.
  • Having previously held Senior Mining Engineer positions, he became known with both the companies and clients for working quickly and efficiently. One of his key strengths in this position was his ability to perform comparative analysis across multiple scheduling scenarios with a quick turnaround.
  • He has held several roles at Anglo American’s Grosvenor mine site including Mid Term Planning Engineer, Business Improvement Specialist and Longwall Coordinator. Each of these roles relied heavily on Scott’s interpersonal communication and analytical skills. Whilst at Grosvenor, some of his key responsibilities included the Authority to Mine process, monthly planning and reconciliation cycle, incident investigation and risk management.
  • Scott worked as a Mining Engineer for Caledon Resources Cook Colliery where he performed a wide range of tasks such as mid to long term forecasts, drafting and 3D modelling, creating, and updating work procedures, facilitating planning meetings and risk assessments, and working underground installing driving sights and completing other survey tasks.
  • Scott’s technical expertise and analytical skillset gives him insight which he applies during technical appraisals such as due diligence studies or when performing benchmarking and analysis of operational data.
