With qualifications in both commerce and geology, Ross is an experienced resource industry professional with a background spanning across geology (exploration), mining (production & development) and capital markets.

His experience in operations underpins his commercial acumen to enable him to add extensive value on the projects he has worked on which have included ITE and Due Diligence. His advanced geological skills have applied to exploration reviews, MRE updates and general study support. His time in operations has married well with his business acumen to enable him to add extensive value to his Palaris ITE and Due Diligence mandates. His developed geological skill set has allowed him to provide geological support to exploration reviews, MRE updates and general study support.

Track Record

  • As a Financial Analyst at Palaris, Ross has undertaken buy-side due diligence pertaining to Nickel, Copper, Gold, and Coal assets across numerous global jurisdictions.
  • He has had the opportunity to be tested by and resolve some more challenging projects, such as benchmarking exit premiums of historical coal assets, accounting for existing, past, and future environmental rehabilitation liabilities.
  • Whilst working as an underground geologist at Silverlake Resources Rothsay Gold Mine, Ross identified a mineralisation wireframe which was incorrectly assigning grade to a significant alteration halo, blowing out the modelled lens in terms of size and tonnage. The identification led more concise reconciliation of milled ore.
  • During his time as a consultant geologist, Ross conducted desktop reviews for early-stage exploration projects, determining the suitability of how an asset would package into an IPO. He has also provided recommendations regarding prospectivity as well as ECM appetite, market psychology and geological rationale supporting material.
  • At Cosmos Nickel Mine, Ross was involved with transitioning the project from development phase into production. Inclusive of QAQC measures, management of scheduling, resource development and grade control systems and developing haulage / reconciliation tracking where ore was to be fed immediately from underground to the mill via shaft.
