Track Record

  • Working as a Project manager and team leader, Wesley successfully delivered an increase in CHPP availability of 264 operating hours for BHP Mt. Arthur Coal. He was responsible for establishing a small projects team on site, prioritising the project portfolio, business case development, and the overall responsibility for the safe completion of capital works. This strategy delivered a target cost estimate of $225 million creating regional employment opportunities for North Queensland.
  • Wesley was involved in the Baralaba Bankable Feasibility Study which deferred the need for the CHPP by 5 years with the adoption of the terrace mining technique and product blending to achieve 100% PCI production. His role was to support the project by consolidating resource data, exploration gap analysis and overseeing resource modelling to achieve strategic objectives for the project being the deferral of $45 million in capital and improving overall net project value by $510 million.
  • Wesley was formally recognised by the Managing Director of Rio Tinto Coal Australia for continuing to deliver outstanding safety performance in the delivery of high-risk capital works, proactive stakeholder engagement on health and safety and continuous improvement of management systems and plans.
