He has led many feasibility studies for new mines and mine expansions. He is currently managing an Owners Team delivering a pre-feasibility study for a new underground coal mine. As Operations Manager at Bechtel (Mining & Metals), he led EPCM teams delivering feasibility studies for three underground coal mines for BHP. As the Chief Operating Officer of Bowen Central Coal Management Pty Ltd, on behalf of the joint venture participants (Vale and Aquila Resources Ltd) he led the geological evaluation, permitting and mine strategy development for the Isaac Plains and Eagle Downs projects.

He has participated in organisational reviews of mining operations for both due diligence assessments and operational improvement. While at Bechtel, he participated in a review of the project management approach at a major underground mine development, which identified opportunities to improve organisational design and application of project controls. While at MIM Coal, he participated in due diligence teams assessing coal mine acquisition opportunities.
