Andrew is a G3 qualified risk and safety engineer, with a strong technical background in chemical and biomolecular engineering and chemistry.

Following industrial experience as a production technician including 2 years with ANSTO Minerals, Andrew has now spent a number of years broadening into safety, health, and risk. With over 5 years of experience in consulting, Andrew has been involved in over 150 risk and safety projects and has gained significant experience in on-site health and safety roles.

Track Record

  • Andrew has been involved in the development and auditing of confined spaces, confined space registers and isolation procedures / registers at a number of mine sites and CHPPs, including to satisfy the requirements of regulator notices. One such program received recognition by a tier 1 mining company in their internal national safety awards.
  • Andrew has been involved in the review and development of Safety Management Systems, including Principal Hazard Management Plans (PHMPs) and Principal Control Plans (PCPs) for numerous metalliferous and coal mining operations.
  • To better understand mine site safety performance, Andrew participated in the development of safety benchmarking for the resource industry and specific mine sites.
  • Andrew has facilitated a number of bespoke risk assessments, including RAMBO and HAZOP studies for equipment upgrades, through to major processing plant upgrade projects.
  • Andrew has also facilitated project risk assessments and BBRAs, including for pre-feasibility and feasibility studies to understand the major risks across all project areas.
  • Andrew has experience with bow-tie analysis and identification of critical controls, including projects for major resources companies and support to the resource’s regulator.
  • Andrew provided onsite Health, Safety and Training support, along with safety project development and implementation, to a leading coal producer.
  • Andrew has facilitated and been a team member in a number of ICAM investigations at both metalliferous and coal mines.
