With over 40 years’ experience in the coal mining industry including more than 5 years in consulting, Brad is a dynamic team player skilled with managing projects, products, and teams, working across a variety of management, engineering, maintenance, and operational roles at numerous sites in NSW and QLD.

He has extensive experience in electrical systems and project delivery specialising in design, development and implementation of equipment automation and diagnostics.

Track Record

  • As an Automation Engineer, Brad was part of the DBT Global Automation team who travelled to China to inspect local top coal caving installations and discuss the sharing of technology to enable automated top coal caving into Western Markets including Australia. He was involved in the introduction of new Shields Control System (PMCR) into the Australian Market and was instrumental in the delivery of LTCC automation.
  • Brad provided project management, automation and engineering support and acted as Whitehaven Coal company’s representative at Narrabri Coal to take delivery of the first longwall system. He ensured handover from OEM was completed to deliver all requirements of the tender and sale process. He also developed many of the electrical maintenance procedures and training for trades and operators. This ensured the longwall system was brought into successful operation.
  • As an electrical engineer for Addcar, Brad was involved in the electrical systems design, management, and introduction to site of the 2nd Australian Addcar Highwall Mining System at Millennium Mine. The system went on to deliver over 1.5Mt of coal over the following 2-year period.
  • During his time as an Electrical Engineer with Addcar, Brad managed the electrical & control system redesigns and code D overhauls of electrical equipment for the UG components of the Highwall mining system ensuring all compliance and PSF documentation requirements were fulfilled.
  • As Electrical Engineering Manager with Bucyrus, Brad providing technical and engineering input to the sales team tendering for multiple longwall projects winning 3 out of 4 projects on offer at that time.
