He is recognised for his engaging and safety driven leadership system with deep capability in mine planning, operational risk management, and environmental management systems across large-scale and complex mining operations. He has a proven track record in implementing critical risk controls, achieving meaningful risk reduction grounded in operational reality, and maintaining strong regulatory compliance outcomes. Paul is skilled in risk assessment, auditing, incident investigation and contractor management, and is recognised for delivering practical, results-driven solutions that enhance safety, operational performance and organisational resilience.

  • As Project Head of the Bravus Carmichael Mine, Paul successfully led early project execution, implementing a high-performing safety and environmental framework to meet stringent regulatory requirements, delivering construction and off-site works with zero reportable injuries or environmental incidents demonstrating exceptional commitment to safety and compliance.
  • He led the successful restart of the Isaac Plains Mine for Stanmore Coal, delivering $10M in dragline and wash plant re-commissioning and driving full site mobilisation. He strengthened the Safety Management System to ensure full regulatory compliance, enabling a safe and efficient return to operations.
  • As Technical Services Manager at Moolarben, he optimised mine planning, capital strategy, and haulage to de-risk operations and drive consistent growth in LOM NPV.
  • During his time at Maules Creek and Moolarben, Paul enhanced rehabilitation outcomes by implementing robust standards and accountability frameworks reducing costs and increasing output year-on-year. While at Moolarben, Paul led an integrated Mine Closure Study, reducing compliance risk and delivering multi-million-dollar savings through optimised landform design and rehabilitation methodologies.
