With close to 15 years of experience in the resources industry, Ryan has worked across many commodities including coal, graphite, tungsten and copper across Australia and Brazil.

He has extensive experience in leadership, operational and technical roles in open cut mining. This breath of experience enables Ryan to provide practical, robust mine plans across the strategic, medium, and short-term planning space. His significant experience and skills in project engineering and management as well as contractor management ensures his projects are delivered on time and on budget. With extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary teams to delivery feasibility studies and due diligence studies having completed over 50 projects at Palaris, Ryan brings a discerning insight. He also holds an Open Cut Examiner of Coal Mines NSW Certificate.

Track Record

  • Ryan has been involved in 30+ decarbonisation studies at Palaris including fleet transition technologies like in-pit crushing and conveying, trolley assist, battery electric vehicles and dual fuel technology.
  • Ryan has completed numerous feasibility studies in QLD and NSW by managing multi-disciplinary teams in mining, geology, processing, engineering & infrastructure, environmental and approvals to successfully progress the studies to bankable feasibility studies.
  • Ryan has led key due diligence studies for mergers and acquisitions and project finance for a number of mines in QLD including Carmichael coal, Foxleigh mine, Blackwater, Daunia, South Walker Creek and Poitrel.
  • Ryan’s consulting experience is underpinned by extensive operational experience. Ryan was the Technical Services Superintendent at Maules Creek Coal Mine, (NSW) where he led a team of technical professionals to successfully deliver the 10.7Mt ROM mine plan. This was done by developing and implementing robust processes and systems across the technical fields of planning, drill and blast, survey, coal quality and logistics.
  • He has also successfully led many business improvement projects for Yancoal and Whitehaven Coal. This include setting up a mine operating system and business improvement tracking system for both companies.  Selective mining, yield improvements and productivity improvements led to >+$10M savings per year.
