With over 17 years of resource industry experience, Vlad is a highly experience mining executive who has worked across North America, Africa, and Russia.

Vlad has a broad range of capabilities that covers mine planning, business planning, financial analysis, business improvement, and project management. His commodity experience includes precious metals, bulk commodities, and coal, working in large-scale mining operations, consulting, and construction services. Vlad has a relentless focus on business improvement and strategic development along with robust experience in mine engineering and operations (both open cut and underground) which ensures his delivers insight to any project.

Track Record

  • He is a Senior Manager Americas with Palaris acting as ITE project manager for separate gold projects in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Namibia as well as REE processing facility in Quebec and mining project lead for ITEs for a copper project in Ecuador and an REE project in Malawi.
  • Vlad was Head of the Integrated Business Planning department at Guinea Alumina Corporation, where he led business planning, business improvement, risk, and project management office workstreams. In his role, he was primarily responsible for managing productivity improvement initiatives with a total EBITDA impact estimated at ~$58M per annum, managing lenders reporting obligations, and developing strategic business planning and risk management procedures.
  • At Polyus Gold, the largest gold producer in Russia and a top 5 gold producer globally, Vlad was a Director of Strategic Development where he managed strategic productivity improvement projects with a total EBITDA impact estimated at ~$419M per annum.
  • He has held various engineering positions with Kinross Gold, a senior Canadian gold mining company. Vlad was deeply involved in the development of the company’s new strategic business planning process, worked on a large number of business improvement projects both at corporate and mine site levels, and contributed to the development of feasibility study for Tasiast mine in Mauritania.
  • Vlad was a project coordinator with Thyssen Schachtbau GmbH, working on a ~$400M shaft sinking project in Russia. In his role, he was responsible for all aspects of the project development, including the establishment of the representative office in Norilsk, subcontractor management, procurement, and collaboration with the customer and authorities on site.
