RO Plant Project Management & Front-End Loading Review AUSTRALIA
Project management for design, construction and commissioning of a mine water treatment plant and associated civil packages for an underground mine in Australia
To facilitate dewatering of the Client’s underground mine, it was decided to construct a 10ML/day reverse osmosis (RO) water treat plant to allow re-use of the extract water on the mine site.
Palaris was engaged to provide tender and contract documentation review, project management and technical support for construction and commissioning of the facility.
The delivery scope for Palaris included the associated civil works package and access road.
Palaris undertook a staged process for the works commencing with a full initial background information review prior to review and assessment of the RO plant vendor proposals. Palaris directly undertook contract development and negotiation and provided a risk facilitator for HAZID and HAZOP assessments prior to execution.
Palaris provided schedule for whole of project including packages outside its delivery scope including water and brine dams, communications, power and water supply connections.
For the design, construction and commissioning phase Palaris provided a full seven-person project management team including project controls, site supervision along with specialist electrical, industrial and water engineers. Palaris worked in with the Client’s own site team during delivery of the project operating under the Client’s required project management systems.
The RO plant was delivered on time and commissioned and operated at its nameplate capacity. The Client engaged Palaris on further capital projects following completion including a gas flare installation.
